India to launch its first astronauts into space by 2015 This article is more than 14 years old Asian space race: £1.7bn plan seen as attempt to catch up with China Randeep Ramesh in Delhi Mon 23 Feb 2009 12.52 EST India has endorsed an ambitious £1.7bn plan to launch its first astronauts into space by 2015, a move seen by many as an attempt to catch up with its bigger neighbour, China, in an emerging Asian space race. The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) proposes to put two people into orbit 171 miles above the Earth for seven days – a plan that has been endorsed by the country's top economic policymaking body, the Planning Commission. "Isro has done an expert job and it needs to be supported," said Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of the Planning Commission. The Human Space Flight project is to have two phases: an unmanned flight launched in 2013-2014 and a manned mission the following year.

So far, India only did one time test on manned mission, they shot into air about 70 km above bay of bangle, and let it land on the sea, but they cut the parachute too early, the spaceship crashed down on the sea, luckily no person in it, or would be meat pie in it.

in 2009 India claimed they would send a man into space by 2015 and walk on the moon by 2021, ................how time flies. haha

the problem of India's program is India does not have a reliable powerful space rocket, LMV-3 with max payload about 6 tons to LEO, China's first spaceship weight 7.8 tons, send 1 man into space for the first time, India, much much more brave, they want to put 3 men into a tiny space ship with only 3.7 tons, half of the size of China's first one but with 2 more men into it. seems they do not care about the lives of their astronauts.

the key characteristic of this nation is a big mouth, with very sloppy hands, the worst enemy for space program. it explains the crash of Chandrayaan 2

China will send men onto the moon before 2030, by that time, India may still not be able to send a man 200 km above the earth,

the most intelligent person in the entire India history, the Buddha condemned the caste system, which he considered unjust. He pointed out that there existed wicked and cruel people as well as virtuous and kind people in every caste. Any person who had committed a crime would be punished accordingly by his karma no matter what caste he belonged to. He said a person may be considered to have come from a high or low caste according to his good and bad deeds. Therefore, according to the Buddha it is the good and bad actions of a person and not his birth that should determine his caste. The Buddha introduced the idea of placing a higher value on morality and the equality of people instead of on which family or caste a person is born into. This was also the first attempt to abolish discrimination and slavery in the history of mankind. The Buddha said: By birth one is not an outcaste, By birth one is not a Brahmin; By deeds alone one is an outcaste, By deeds alone one is a Brahmin
