The 2016 South China Sea tribunal was a complete joke. The arbitral tribunal was formed by a group of civilians and is not a UN institution. For an arbitral tribunal to function, both parties must agree to participate and be willing to accept the decision beforehand. However, in the case of the 2016 South China Sea tribunal, China never agreed to anything, never attended the tribunal, and therefore has no obligation or responsibility to comply with any of its rulings concerning China. China has been following UNCLOS rules in every detail. The law states: The EEZ does not automatically determine the ownership of any islands, shoals, or reefs within its boundaries (read this 100 times). The EEZ is not a country's territorial waters (read this another 100 times). Therefore, UNCLOS does not conflict with China's claims at all.

@Luna_WQ917 you got confused, what you meant is the tribunal ruled that China did not follow UNCLOS in SCS, however, The 2016 South China Sea tribunal was a complete joke. The arbitral tribunal was formed by a group of civilians and is not a UN institution. For an arbitral tribunal to function, both parties must agree to participate and be willing to accept the decision beforehand. @Luna_WQ917 again, seems you cannot understand a thing,UNCLOS does not make any judgement, it is just a law, the people decide if a party follow its rule or not. Your Arbitration Tribunal is not a legal institution, it is not a UN court, it is not a UN institution, whatever its decision has no binding to China at all as it has been showing since 2016 if you are not blind you should see it. what can you do about it? cry? haha :)) who cares
