King John was also well known for his cruelty towards his own people, one example being allowing a noblewoman and her son to starve to death in prison. I learned a lot about this awful man today, and now I truly understand why the Magna Carta was created! Very helpful and useful! Well done indeed again! Thank you!

I remember being vaccinated against polio in the mid 1960's, and I knew two, possibly three people who had had polio, and suffered the effects. As a person with a disability, I have seen much improvement in the way disabled, and elderly people are treated, but however there is still much more room for improvement, especially in the attitudes of abled bodied people, and medical professionals.

I learned a lot about Isaac Newton's life and works today, I am most grateful to you Simon, and your team

I first heard about John McCarthy as a fifteen year old teenager in my high school. My history teacher, Mr Lloyd Halliday, who was a very good teacher, taught about how his political influence caused many problems within the US Senate and how his increasingly outlandish claims lead to his downfall. I did not know that he most likely died of alcoholism. I feel sorry for his wife.

Now I understand why this man became who he was today. I found his sheer arrogance and deception absolutely shocking to the point of near total paralysis! I felt so sorry for his family, especially his wife Ruthie!
7

It has been said that power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely 💯. Edgar Hoover was the perfect living example of this. No wonder so many people were relieved when he died in 1972. I don't think that God will ever have a very high opinion of Edgar Hoover. With eternal consequences 😕

I'd heard about Calvin Coolidge, but hardly knew anything about him. Thank you so much, Simon, for this most interesting and educational video! But however I very strongly believe that grief internalized can lead to all sorts of issues later on in a person's life and heart.
4
This video was extremely interesting and educational! I enjoy it immensely! And learned a lot too! Have you ever done a video on Ernest Rutherford, or Kate Shepperd, both New Zealanders who made history in their own way?
4

4
Very interesting and educational video, about the (almost) typical dysfunctional family, held together by a determined mother!
3
Jean Harlow is a classic example of how the love of money, and the lust of the eyes and flesh, caused so much suffering for this young woman! It is also the reason why I don't follow Hollywood people and watch most movies.
3
Virginia Hall had a backbone, not a wishbone! And the ability to keep her mouth shut! When necessary!
3
Thank you for this most interesting and eye opening video, but however I really need to say that most political and community leaders are corrupt, self centered and power grabbing to the highest degree. The love of money and power causes people to do things that are anywhere from being absolutely stupid to being downright evil beyond description. That is why I have very little or no respect for politicians, community leaders and business leaders.

I remember reading a book about Florence Nightingale as a young girl, and seeing a movie about her as well as a older child, and being absolutely inspired by her character and work. But I think that Florence Nightingale would now be very disappointed by the way modern hospitals are run today, especially in the area of disease control. I learned a lot about this wonderful woman today! Thank you, Simon and your team!
3
Mark Zuckerberg is a classic example of "how the mighty have fallen!"

Pride goes before a fall, and destruction to those who follow its path - this sums up Bill Cosby's life!
3
A true hero doesn't blow their own trumpet, or even seek public attention, they just simply do what they were trained to do, or what Jesus Christ would have done, or what any decent person would do. Most New Zealand people are like that! I live in New Zealand! 😊
3
I loved this video, I learned a lot about European history in the 19th century! Very well explained and I really learned somethings which I had been taught many years ago. But being a older person might have helped me learn better now!

You don't get men like Lee anymore, who had some measure of integrity and honesty.
