  1. I use the OBS systray icon incredibly frequently, I start recording using a hotkey and it gives me a visual indicator that I'm recording, also it can be disabled if you find it annoying. General -> System Tray -> Uncheck Enable

  4. Don't worry, they're not going anywhere on Windows and MacOS, GNOME missing one just makes it buggy to the user
