The problem is that Trump was right, which was that there are too many NATO members who didn’t properly fund their militaries through the years. They were caught with their pants down, and they haven’t been able to provide Ukraine with the amount of weapons needed to defend itself. There shouldn’t be so much reliance on one country to defend NATO. I’m not a Trump fan, but I think he got it right. Too bad his warnings to not fund Russia’s military by purchasing Russian oil, and for NATO countries to increase their budgets to at least meet the NATO minimum requirements went unheard.
