As an American, I’ve been very pro NATO ever since my youth. I’m not so sure anymore. I see a lot of anti-United States sentiment here on YouTube. It’s amazing how little all the aid that the U.S. has provided to Ukraine is appreciated. In fact, many Europeans criticize the U.S. for not providing enough, and they feel entitled to US protection, even when their own country doesn’t fulfill its duties to spend more on defense. Now I’m even reading how Canadians are boycotting US products. Why should the U.S. agree to protect them if they have such a negative view of the USA? Screw that. They can protect themselves and stop expecting the U.S. to do it for them.

Good for Vietnam to stand up to China. Around 40 years ago China attacked Vietnam, and in just one month’s time lost around 30 thousand troops. I am sure Vietnam doesn’t need to remind them of that experience.

@General_MacArthur The U.S. achieved its primary goal in Afghanistan. Do you even know why it invaded in the first place?

European countries have been negligent in building their defenses, and have expected the U.S. to provide protection while they’ve spent more on social programs. The U.S. has no obligation to help Ukraine, and even so the U.S. has provided as much military aid as all the other countries combined. European countries need to pay for their own protection, and to stop expecting the U.S. to do it for them.

Sure is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

The US defense budget for this next year is around $850 billion. I think the NATO budget is an entirely different budget.

@Dude408f How is the U.S. being irresponsible? It’s got no obligation to help Ukraine. If it was in NATO, then that would be a different matter.

@uqs57bju Um, the UK and France pulled the US into Libya. And the war in Afghanistan was not just for fun. That was an attack against terrorists that are against all western civilizations. What the Europeans contributed was peanuts in comparison to what the US did. European countries are some of the wealthiest in the world. It’s about time that they spend more on defense and to not rely so heavily on the U.S. for protection.
1
@gerihuginn2143 Europe doesn’t do nearly enough. They depend way too heavily on the U.S. for protection.
1
@mishkalewis8409 The US warned its allies for over a decade to stop buying so much Russian oil and gas, and to spend more on defense. European nations did the opposite and bought more Russian oil and gas, and reduced their defense spending. Now they expect the U.S. to pay for their negligence when it comes to helping Ukraine.

@16psyco The deadline date for pulling out of Afghanistan was negotiated well in advance. I’ll admit that Biden did a horrible job pulling the troops out, but everyone knew it was coming. And yes, he should have let the allies know precisely the plans instead of having them find out on their own.

@CatToy4000 The U.S. is the most powerful. It’s not even debatable.
1
@Repz98 There was no such agreement, and European countries don’t do the U.S. any favors by buying U.S. weapons. In fact, they make the U.S. compete in tenders against other country’s weapons. The U.S. for over a decade has told its European allies that they needed to spend more on defense, and they all ignored the advice and did the exact opposite.

@foujiz Um, the first Iraq war was UN approved. The second one only a few countries participated. Syria was also mandated by UN Resolutions. Since when did ISIS only become a US problem? What about Yemen? If it wasn’t for the USA the Houthis would close the Red Sea. Just think about what would happen to your domestic goods prices if it wasn’t for the U.S. And it was the UK and France that convinced them to help fight in Libya. If it wasn’t for the USA, Iran could also shut down the Strait of Hormuz, and China could take control of the South China Sea. It’s people like you why the U.S. should pull out of NATO.

@ Ah, a conspiracy theorist who believes nonsense. You’ll believe anything but the truth. The first Iraq War was because Saddam invaded and took Kuwait. Practically the whole world was for war to kick him out, but of course you blame the USA. Second war in Iraq was because of WMDs thought to be there, which even Saddam himself said he internationally tried to deceive the world he had them after he was captured. There was no need for the war in Libya, a war that the U.S. played more of a support role for the UK and France. Go read the un Resolutions about the war in Syria. Of course you blame the U.S. You blame it for everything.
1
@foujiz LOL, so you think that the US was able to influence all the countries that voted in favor of kicking Saddam out of Kuwait just so that the U.S. could make money selling weapons. 😂. You’re obviously just a U.S. hater. The second war in Iraq was not only because of the U.S., but UK. They thought Saddam’s military still had WMDs, which there was many reasons to believe that. Saddam himself admitted after he was captured that he tried to deceive the world that he still had WMDs. It wasn’t out of fear of the U.S., which he never thought would actually attack, but because of Iran. There are numerous UN Resolutions authorizing force against ISIS in Syria. Read and learn them. Not everything has a hidden agenda to help the US. The US actually didn’t want to go to war in Libya at first. It was mainly the UK and France that persuaded the U.S. Google How NATO Pushed the U.S. to War in the Libyan Fiasco. I am all for getting the U.S. out of NATO. Other than a few countries, most NATO members have let their militaries dwindle over the years. The US advised them to stop buying so much Russian oil and gas, and to build up their militaries, and they did the exact opposite. Now they’re crying for the US to keep spending billions to help Ukraine. Screw that. Most Europeans are ungrateful jerks who expect a free ride. Go protect yourself and stop expecting the U.S. to do it for you.
1
@foujiz So all the nations that voted in favor of punishing Saddam for his invasion of Kuwait did so that the U.S. could benefit with arms sales. 😂 The 2nd war with Iraq was because the U.S. and UK believed Saddam still had WMDS, which there was good reason to believe. Saddam himself admitted after being captured that he tried to deceive the world. It wasn’t out of fear of the U.S., which he never thought would actually attack, but because of Iran. You’re right, the U.S. should leave NATO. The European countries economies are significantly stronger than Russia’s. If Russia can’t defeat Ukraine, it surely doesn’t stand a chance against the European countries. The Houthis don’t like the west in general, including countries like the U.S. that support Israel. Do you think they like EU nations? They are radicals. European countries can protect their own waterways. The war in Syria was to stop ISIS. Read the UN Resolutions. And the war in Libya was because France and UK wanted it, not the U.S. Google “How NATO Pushed the US into the Libyan Fiasco.”

@foujiz You’re obviously just a U.S. hater who believes anything and everything that is critical of the U.S. I bet you’re a Muslim living in Europe.
1
European countries aren’t protecting the U.S. The U.S. has two large oceans that protect it. The European countries are protected by the U.S. though, and it’s time for them to spend more on defense to protect themselves.
1
What actions and choices are you talking about? It’s been the European countries who have failed. Despite the U.S. advising them for over a decade to stop buying so much Russian oil and gas, and to spend more on defense, they told the U.S. to mind its own business, and they did the exact opposite. Now they’re begging the U.S. to keep helping Ukraine as they’ve been negligent in protecting their own countries.
1
@ You don’t think the advice that the U.S. suggested was good advice? The Europeans helped pay for Russia’s war machine by buying Russian oil and gas. And if they had spent more on defense like the U.S. suggested, the Ukrainians wouldn’t be so dependent on US military aid so much today.
1
@rayoliver6504 What, you don’t believe that the advice that the U.S. gave was good? You’re kidding, right? Now all the countries are doing what the U.S. suggested over a decade ago. Ukraine wouldn’t be so dependent on the U.S. for military aid if they had listened to the U.S..
1
@rayoliver6504 Just curious, what country are you from? Your comments don’t make much sense.
