When has it ever had a chance to fight an adversary? Did the Taliban and Al Qaeda all of a sudden develop air forces? The one time that Russia had a chance to deploy Su-35s against the F-22, Russia chose to keep them grounded. US forces were bombing Russia’s Wagner group for over four hours in Syria, with their Su-35s just minutes away. Russia knew that they didn’t have a chance and chose to let hundreds of its soldiers die as a result.

@foracal5608 I get ya. Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t serve, but I am very appreciative of those who have. I have quite a few relatives who have served. I’m grateful that they’ve all come home safely despite some dangerous deployments.

What an ignorant comment. The only reason why the F-22 was cut short was because the US was engaged in two very expensive wars at the time, and the F-22’s capabilities wasn’t needed for either of them. The US isn’t at war with any country right now. The Pentagon has more than enough money to buy new toys.

@foracal5608 I was aware of that encounter. My point is that despite them being in service for almost twenty years they’ve never had the chance to actually down another fighter.
