If you lived back then you would probably think differently.  The Japanese brutalized many nations, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people, used people as lab rats, forced prostitution, etc,  The war was taking its toll, and the A-bomb was a quick way to end it all.  If it hadn't been the US, some other nation would have used it first.    It's easy being an arm-chair quarterback 70 years later.

People have been talking about its collapse ever since Ronald Reagan was in office around 30 or so years ago, and yet it still is here today. Not only that but you're only thinking for yourself.  What about the millions of people that are already 60?
