@johnboie4964 Reagan had a less secure border back then in comparison to today’s. Reagan also wouldn’t have used as an excuse the border situation with Mexico to not helping a democratic country being attacked by Russia. Reagan would have taken this opportunity to take down Russia just like he did with the Soviet Union.

@johnboie4964 I completely agree. Biden opened the borders and made the situation a mess. Trump had the border situation much more under control. The Democrats made an attempt to reach a compromise, but Trump shot it down. He’s got too much influence on the Republicans in Congress. Rather than doing what’s right, they’re trying to appease Trump. However, tying the border situation with aid for Ukraine isn’t right, either. They’re unrelated, and under Reagan this wouldn’t have happened. The United States has literally spent trillions on defense for decades to fight against Russia. Russia has been our adversary for as long as I can remember. They’ve provided weapons and support to numerous foes that we’ve fought against for decades. They have thousands of nukes aimed at us, and much of their population has been brainwashed to hate us. The US has provided less than three percent of its annual DOD budget to Ukraine, and look at the huge impact that it’s had helping them defend their country. Much of the equipment and weapons provided are from old stockpiles, with some of it even nearing expiration (like the ATACMS). This is a huge opportunity for the US to provide a small amount of support in return for a possible huge future gain. More importantly, it’s a time when we should not allow a country to commit horrible atrocities and let them get away with it.
