I’m a conservative Republican, and I will be voting for Biden. Other than Ukraine, I don’t like Biden on many other issues, but Ukraine’s winning takes precedence over all the other issues.

@RidleyHolmes-sr2tw Did I say that? No! Use your brain. Russia has been the US’s main adversary for decades. The US has literally spent trillions over the years to defend itself from Russia. For just a small fraction of our annual defense budget, and with much of the equipment coming from old and unused stockpiles, the US is helping Ukraine significantly decrease Russia’s military capabilities. It also helps our soft power globally. We’re much more respected worldwide than when we’re selfish and only thinking about ourselves.

@waywardgeologist2520 How so? We’re providing a lot of equipment that is sitting unused, and the performance of our military equipment has significantly increased sales of our products. And you do realize that Trump had huge debts when he was president don’t you?

@waywardgeologist2520 Much of the aid is unused equipment. From what I recall is that the recent $60 billion package was a loan. Regardless, there’s a good chance it will be written off, at least a portion of it, just like we did under the Lend Lease Act in WWII. I understand your point, however I like to look at it differently. Russia has been our adversary for many decades, and we have spent trillions on defense because of them. We’re getting quite a bargain. We’re providing around 4% of our annual DOD budget to help Ukraine. That’s nothing compared to what we’re getting in return. The war has also showcased our weapons and there’s a huge surge in sales. And finally, on moral grounds what Russia is doing just isn’t right. It’s committing acts that are worse than ISIS, and it shouldn’t go unpunished.

@garyweightman5936 You do realize that Russia has been the US’s main adversary for decades, and that the US has spent trillions on defense to fight against it. You do realize that Russia has been the primary supporter and supplier of weapons for the adversaries that we’ve fought for decades. Think about it logically. For a fraction of the cost, Ukraine is helping significantly reduce our main enemy’s strength, and without the loss of any American soldier’s lives. We are also providing Ukraine with much of our older equipment that we don’t use anymore. Helping Ukraine is helping the US. If you don’t believe me, just watch some Russian media channels and you’ll see how much they hate us Americans and want our country destroyed.

@zanetaantkiewicz9944 You don’t know me. Not at all. I’ve voted predominantly Republican for nearly every election. I just think that Ukraine is the biggest issue we need to address. No joke, every election that I can remember the border has always been an issue. Even back as far as Ronald Reagan, who is my favorite president because he was integral in bringing down the Soviet Union.

@petercollingwood522 Is that why we’re seeing so many videos from groups of Russian soldiers complaining how they’re poorly led, trained and equipped? Is that why Russia at one time held around 28% of Ukraine, but now it’s only 20%? Is that why Russia’s Black Sea fleet has gone into hiding, and why Russia’s soldiers are using motorcycles and golf carts on the front? Russia’s getting its tail spanked hard, and by a country with an ancient air force, no navy, and an army that is significantly outnumbered. The only reason why Russia has taken the little land it’s got is because of Russia’s population advantage and that Putin doesn’t care about how many Russian men die.

@RidleyHolmes-sr2tw You’re not blaming Biden for the US getting kicked out of Niger are you? He’s got no control of the political environment there. I’m not a Biden supporter, but we should still try to be fair when assessing a person’s performance. I also don’t like the US getting overly involved in global conflicts, but I do think that the war in Ukraine is one that the US can’t ignore. Russia has been our biggest adversary for many decades, and it will remain that way for generations to come. Anything we can do to help reduce their power and global influence will help future generations. Whatever wars we have fought in the past, Russia’s always been there helping the adversaries. Russia also supports all our enemies, I.e. Iran, North Korea, Syria, etc. Russians also hate us with a passion. Just watch Russian Media Monitor here on YouTube to see for yourself. They’ve been brainwashed for decades, and if we can help take them down will benefit us all. And finally, Putin is a thug. We can’t let him get away with all the horrible atrocities his troops have committed.

@garyweightman5936 Not at all. I’ve voted almost exclusively Republican my entire life. You don’t know me. The fact that Trump at one time said he didn’t even know what NATO meant speaks volumes. I don’t support Biden on nearly any other issue, from the border mess to abortion, but I do support helping Ukraine, which separates him from lying Trump.

@GregAlterton I sure am. I’m a Reagan Republican. I just don’t agree with voting party lines on important issues like Ukraine. You know damn well that tying the border funding to Ukraine’s funding were two entirely different issues. It’s wrong what’s happening in Ukraine, and we shouldn’t just sit back and let it happen.

@zanetaantkiewicz9944 It comes down to trust and his giant sized ego. I don’t trust that he’ll do the right thing to help. Can you imagine if ISIS would have blown up a children’s hospital how the US would react? What Russia is doing in Ukraine is blatantly wrong, and it should not go unanswered.

And where exactly do you get the $200 billion figure from? $175 billion has been approved but not fully allocated, and of that $107 billion directly aids the government of Ukraine. You do realize that the US has literally spent trillions on defense to fight against Russia over decades? We’re getting a bargain by providing mainly our older equipment to Ukraine, while Ukraine significantly decreases our main adversary’s power, and all without losing a single American soldier’s life.

@grannyllama617 What matters most to me is that he’s the only candidate who is willing to stand up to Putin and not kiss his 4ss like Trump. And contrary to Trump’s predictions, the economy didn’t crash, the stock market didn’t either, China didn’t take control, blah, blah, blah. What it comes down to is I don’t trust Trump. He is a dictator bootlicker with a huge ego. It’s no wonder why he and Putin get along so well.

@grannyllama617 I never said anything about Trump and Independents. However, I will say that other than Ukraine that I agree more with Trump than I do Biden. The border situation is a mess, homeless people, abortion rights, a smaller government, etc., I agree with Trump. If he supported Ukraine’s independent I would vote for him, but he only cares about money, which is okay some of the time, but not when people are being brutalized for no justifiable reason.

I sure hope he’s right, too. Europe has shown that it can’t provide the needed military aid to help Ukraine win when the Republicans in Congress held up aid to Ukraine for over eight months. For Ukraine to win Biden must win.
