Trump can’t force Ukraine to do anything. I really hope European countries can find a way to help Ukraine with whatever it needs in the event Trump is elected.

@hgv1883 Most of it has only been verbal pledges. Just look at how European countries promised a million artillery shells over a year ago, and yet they have provided less than half of what’s been promised. France has been doing a lot of talking, but look at what it’s done with providing military aid. Very little. Europe needs to step up in a big way because if Trump is elected Ukraine won’t get anything else from the US. I even fear that Trump will stop providing intel, which would be a huge loss for Ukraine.

@yellowtunes2756 You actually raised a valid point that I forgot about. The US finances many of Ukraine’s jobs, like the firefighters, police, EMT, etc. The US also provides invaluable intel that Ukraine would struggle without having. I just hope it doesn’t come to that. While I don’t like the border situation, I think the war in Ukraine is a more concerning matter. Putin must have something on Trump because Trump has always been soft on him.

@Lorne.Mccuaig Nah, Trump won’t pull the US out of NATO. Trump is proud how there were no wars when he was in office. His biggest complaint was that fellow NATO members don’t contribute enough. Most of the members now have increased their budgets. Trump’s a businessman. He’s all about making money. He’s not going to leave Mexico as a trading partner either.

@yellowtunes2756 Trump is a very proud man. He loves to brag about himself. I do believe that Putin would take the deal, if it was offered, but he’d require certain security guarantees, like Ukraine can never join NATO, which I think Trump would accept. It’s hard to predict because Trump isn’t an easy read. He’s unpredictable except when it comes to money and his ego.

@yellowtunes2756 Why wouldn’t you support a country that seeks democracy and doesn’t want to be under Putin’s rule? Do you blame the Ukrainians for wanting closer ties to the EU when you see how they have much better living standards than the Russians? And why reward an aggressor country that attacked another country for no justifiable reason, just lies?

@yellowtunes2756 Russia was not okay with Ukraine joining the EU. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons why there was an uprising in 2014. It says: Russia dismissed the possibility of Ukraine joining the European Union as "hardly real" on Thursday, a day after the bloc's executive recommended opening formal membership talks with Kyiv. Moscow Times, 2023 November. Of course Ukraine blocked the water supply to Crimea. Crimea is Ukraine’s, and Russia illegally took it. The Ukrainians did not shell civilians in the Donetsk. That’s a lie made up by Russia. You should know better by now. In fact, Ukraine challenged Russia before the UN to provide evidence of such Ukrainian atrocities. Guess what Russia did? It boycotted the hearings. It would have been the perfect time for Russia to justify its invasion, but instead all it did was confirm that all Russia can do is lie. Facts are that Russia invaded for no justifiable reason. Everything Russia has said has been a lie.
