That old equipment has done quite well. It’s not just the US providing older equipment, but practically all western countries. The problem with providing more modern equipment is that it costs a lot more, which would mean fewer units would be sent to Ukraine since there are monetary caps imposed by each country.

Better late than never. With the cold soon settling in it shouldn’t give the Ukrainians time to make any necessary changes to get them ready for battle.

@timrider1224 I somewhat agree with you, but it’s easy making decisions in hindsight. When the war began we were all concerned about the imaginary red lines that Russia drew. All the countries were concerned about escalating the war. I of course would like to see the war be over and for Russia to be put in its place, but I don’t want my country being drawn into it.

@timrider1224 There’s a trade off. We could provide more modern equipment in smaller numbers, or they can provide older equipment in greater numbers. For instance, if an old Bradley costs one third the price of a modern one, and the amount of aid is capped, which one do you think Ukraine will choose?
