â  @PalleRasmussen Youâre intentionally skewing the facts by showing the US on the bottom. Youâre intentionally not including 17 other European countries below the US, including France, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Iceland, Austria, etc. European countries should be spending a lot more than the US. Itâs their security that is at risk more so than any other country. The US has no obligation to help Ukraine, and yet itâs provided just as much military aid than all other countries combined. And what percentage of European countries GNP do they spend keeping the Strait of Hormuz, South China Sea, Red Sea, open? And the US is the only country helping Taiwan and Israel. It just gave Egypt $1.3 billion to Egypt to try to maintain peace in the M.E. Try being honest.

@PalleRasmussen FYI, I already voted for Kamala solely because she supports helping Ukraine. If you look at the Baltic countries, theyâre the ones that are contributing the most per capita. Yes some countries like Denmark do some policing globally, but itâs small potatoes compared to the US. When someone criticizes the US for not providing more military aid to Ukraine based on GNP, they donât look at the big picture. Yes, the US is supposed to help, and it has a lot, not only in military aid, but valuable intelligence and resources. However, the US has global obligations that most of our NATO allies donât. Is Denmark keeping the sea lanes open in the Red Sea, South China Sea, Strait of Hormuz? Plus , the US has actual contractual obligations to help Israel, and Israel has been a longtime ally of the United States. And it was Israel that was attacked by Hamas that has led to the most recent crisis. Ukraine only recently became an ally, and the US doesnât have any contractual obligations to help Ukraine that requires the US to provide protection or even aid. Yet it still has provided just as much military aid as all other countries combined. Europe has some of the most wealthy countries in the world. When you consider that there are six countries in NATO that have top ten economies, while Russiaâs is ranked 11th, itâs ridiculous that thereâs so much reliance on the US. The European countries should be the ones bearing the brunt of the costs as itâs their security that is at stake. After hearing years of criticism from our allies in Europe that we needed to mind our own business, many Americans want to become more isolationist. I donât agree with them, but I understand their point of view. Before this war our European allies criticized the US for interfering in world affairs too much. For over a decade the US advised its NATO allies that they needed to spend more on defense. Not only did they ignore the advice, but they cut back even more on defense spending. We were told that nobody made the US the worldâs policeman.
The Patriot missiles, Javelins, 155 mm artillery, GLMRS, etc., are not from scrap piles. The US has actually made new facilities and expanded existing ones to try to keep up with Ukrainian demand.
Denmark lost just 43 soldiers lives in Afghanistan. BFD. You do realize that the war in Afghanistan was a war against terror donât you? It wasnât a war just about the US. The US has been unreliable for twenty years? How so? While our allies cut their defense budgets, the US increased its. And it wasnât the US that led NATO to fight in Serbia or Libya. It was primarily France and the UK that called for intervention. The US at first thought the war in Serbia was just a civil war. Itâs a two way street where the US has asked for help from its allies, and the allies have requested US help, too.

@timrider1224 He misrepresented the facts by showing the U.S. on the bottom when in reality itâs in the middle. The US warned its European allies for over a decade to increase military spending. Not only did they ignore the advice, but they decreased spending, while telling the U.S. to mind its own business. Now the U.S. is expected by them to pay for their negligence. Yes, in total Europeâs GNP percentage has been higher, as it should be. The war is more of a direct threat to European countries so of course they should be spending more. Europe has some of the wealthiest countries in the world with six NATO members having top ten economies, while Russiaâs is ranked 11th. How is it that Ukraine is so dependent on US aid when this is the case? The United States also has global obligations keeping the sea lanes open in the Red Sea, South China Sea, Strait of Hormuz, etc. The US also helps Taiwan and Israel. The US just gave $1.3 billion to Egypt, which helps maintain peace between it and Israel. How much does Europe pay for these costs? The US also has a crisis of its own with many millions of immigrant coming to the US. I have visited Europe, and I can tell you that itâs got nowhere near the homeless problem that the US has.
