Why is it ironic? You expect free handouts? Much of the aid is free, but you expect Ukraine to get everything for free at the expense of another country’s taxpayers?

@danny-qs5zd You don’t understand how the real world works. Aid isn’t always free. Sometimes it’s offered at a discount. And Ukraine is getting large amounts of equipment and training for free. Russia would have gotten its ass kicked if it wasn’t for the Lend Lease Act. Do you think it complained about it?

Wow, like anyone is impressed. Was it also Russia’s mission to lose Kharkiv? Russia lost tens of thousands of lives, and now Russia’s army is pulling tanks from reserves that were built 70 years ago.

@Hezlock The US hasn’t offered Ukraine any military alliance, and Ukraine was rejected from joining NATO. As long as Ukraine had a territorial dispute, it wasn’t allowed to join NATO per its bylaws. Russia was stupid to invade since Ukraine had disputed territory in both the Donbas region and Crimea.

There’s absolutely no proof that NATO was behind the uprising in 2014, but there’s plenty of evidence that the Ukrainian people were pissed of about their leadership not wanting to join the EU. It makes sense why they would be upset. Why would Ukrainians want to live like Russians when the standard of living is so much lower in Russia? Russia lied about Ukrainian atrocities in the DPR and LPR. That’s what Russia does and you should know better by now. In fact, when Ukraine challenged Russia to provide evidence of the atrocities to the UN, guess what Russia did? It boycotted the hearings. It would have been the perfect opportunity for Russia to justify its invasion, but instead all it did was further confirm that all Russia can do is lie.

@dannyt1705 The Minsk agreement never would have been necessary if Russia abided by the Budapest Memorandum. The Ukrainians only signed the Minsk agreement to try to avoid a larger war with Russia, which ultimately happened anyway.

The U.S. even transported an entire Ford Company tire factory, which made tires for military vehicles, to the Soviet Union. Russia’s trolls are ungrateful pricks. At least Stalin recognized the value. In a November 1941 letter to Roosevelt, Soviet Premier Josef Stalin wrote: “Your decision, Mr. President, to give the Soviet Union an interest-free credit of $1 billion in the form of materiel supplies and raw materials has been accepted by the Soviet government with heartfelt gratitude as urgent aid to the Soviet Union in its enormous and difficult fight against the common enemy — bloodthirsty Hitlerism.”

At a dinner toast with Allied leaders during the Tehran Conference in December 1943, Stalin added: “The United States … is a country of machines. Without the use of those machines through Lend-Lease, we would lose this war.” Nikita Khrushchev, who led the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964, agreed with Stalin’s assessment. In his memoirs, Khrushchev described how Stalin stressed the value of Lend-Lease aid: “He stated bluntly that if the United States had not helped us, we would not have won the war.”

Look up how Russian soldiers give Ukrainian captives 21 Roses, which is where they cut off all their fingers and toes, then the man’s penis to make 21 bloody roses. They also use a torture method that the Russians used on the Chechens where they ran a pipe up a person’s ass, then jam barbed wire up it. Numerous torture chambers have been found in Ukraine where Russian soldiers once occupied. Your country is filled with sickos who are worse than ISIS, and you’re just as bad by defending Russia.

Is that why 141 countries voted against Russia’s annexation of Ukraine territory while only five voted in favor of Russia? Russia’s only friends are Iran and North Korea. Wow, those are really great allies. 😂 Even Serbia voted against Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territories. Both China and India are only using Russia to get cheap oil. Russia has no real friends. Ukraine was practically forced to sign the Minsk agreement in order to try to avoid a war with Russia. Russia as usual also lied about Ukrainian atrocities in the Donbas region. When Ukraine challenged Russia to provide evidence to the UN, Russia ran and hid by boycotting the hearings. It would have been the perfect opportunity for Russia to justify its invasion, but instead it just confirmed that all Russia can do is lie.

Face it, the Ukrainians don’t want to be aligned with Russia. Who can blame them? Why in the world would they want to live like Russians with much lower living standards and less freedom? Did Russia not follow the Budapest Memorandum, which if Russia followed in the first place then the Minsk Agreements never would have been necessary. Ukraine only signed the agreements to try to avoid a war with Russia. Yet, Russia still invaded Ukraine, a sovereign country, held illegal referendums that were fixed from the very beginning. Plus, the fact that Russia has lied from the very beginning shows that itself knows what it has done is wrong. Russia lied about invading Crimea, only admitting the truth after it illegally annexed the territory. It lied about not having troops in Eastern Ukraine. It lies about the shooting down of MH-17. That’s all Russia does, lie, lie, lie.

@graemepeters5717 I recall that the Lend Lease didn’t start until quite a few months after the war had already started. What about those items provided beforehand? And if it’s like the Lend Lease in the past, much of the debt is forgiven. I haven’t read the details of the agreement.

Google Lend Lease Resolution Programs and you will find, Against the $50 billion of lend-lease aid furnished by the United States, it received approximately $10 billion in so-called reverse lend-lease from its allies. After the war the United States negotiated settlement agreements with most of the recipients. In general, the agreements stipulated that lend-lease materials not used in the war should be returned or paid for, but the settlements were also shaped by the proviso written into the original lend-lease agreements, that final settlement terms should "be such as not to burden commerce but to promote mutually advantageous economic relations …and the betterment of worldwide economic relations." Within a decade of the war's end, settlement agreements totaling more than $1.5 billion had been negotiated, on which $477 million had been paid.

@graemepeters5717 it continues to state, Supplies that arrived after the termination date were sold to the United Kingdom at a large discount for £1.075 billion, using long-term loans from the United States, which were finally repaid in 2006. Similarly, the Soviet Union repaid $722 million in 1971, with the remainder of the debt written off.

I’ve seen videos and pictures of dead Russian soldiers littering battlefields. They are nothing but cannon fodder. Russian soldiers in intercepted calls have talked about it openly.

@wolfswinkel8906 Keep lying to yourself. When Russian commanders are stupid enough to have their own soldiers attacking fortified positions heavy losses are bound to happen. You can easily find countless videos of Russian soldiers getting annihilated. There are numerous intercepted calls of Russian soldiers talking about how only small percentages of their units remain. Russia’s soldiers are getting sent straight to the front lines with little or no training. Russia mobilized 300K troops and got nothing to gain for it. Russia’s winter offensive was an utter failure.
