@beckyconstantinides2546 That’s SNL, hardly a newsworthy source. You act as though it’s a routine thing for Americans to blame Canada, when that’s not true at all. Americans like to laugh as well, everybody’s does, including at ourselves. I think most Americans are very appreciative of having Canada as our northern neighbor, and wished that the southern border was more like it.

@beckyconstantinides2546 To say that there’s a song called “Blame Canada” surely infers that it’s routine. I am not at all being defensive, just using simple common sense. Personally I’m grateful that Canada is our neighbor. I’ve traveled bits of Canada while going on cruises to Alaska, and the people there have always been very friendly and hospitable. I’ve heard every joke imaginable about us Americans, but sometimes it’s clear that it’s more than just a joke, such as in this case. Regardless, if you meant it to be just a joke, then I apologize. Take care.

I hope that the Chinese aren’t as stupid as the Russians to believe their government’s propaganda. If a U.S. balloon crossed into Chinese territory, the Chinese would have shot down the balloon, too. Remember how the Chinese forced a U.S. spy plane down? They could have simply told the US plane to leave, but instead they forced it to land.
