  1. I'm guessing nature invented grafting & humans just copied her. I have a bougainvillea that I recently pruned & discovered had grafted onto itself at one point (making it difficult to prune). Presumably humans in the past saw something like this & decided to try to do it themselves & then experiment to see how far they could go

  2.  @TamagoHead  I'm guessing it would have been observed prior to written history, probably even more than post written history, as people were beginning to detach from nature as writing was starting. Yew trees are a bit different, but have a look into them, they're often found in church yards in Europe & considered sacred, but they weren't planted there because of that, the church was built there because of them! They naturally hollow out over time & get hollowed out by humans to live in & all sorts of stuff. I'm not sure if their branches "graft" onto themselves or not, but they're probably doing similar stuff, close enough to give an idea of what people were seeing & understanding of trees before a time when most people were literate. I doubt people would have been intentionally grafting plant types that we graft today before written history, back then, they were more interested in increasing seed sizes & getting them all to mature at the one time & other stuff that today we refer to as "domestication". Domestication of plants occurred on every continent (except Antarctica & Zealandia, due to no humans there)

  3. Try making jam with lime instead of lemon juice, it gives it a real kick & awesome flavour you don't expect in jam (jam's really easy to make btw, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup fruit, 1 tsp lemon/lime juice, boil until it has jam consistancy & you're done)

  5. well if you want to do that, you need to start with proper quarantine! Right now though, spraying is absolutely essential if you want to have any chance of saving your citrus industry! I'm a big consumer of organic produce & totally beleive in it, but America's quarantine controls are just way too low for that to be possible on this one. I live in Australia, so we dont' need spraying, exception being for any imports & if the citrus bug discussed in this video was discovered here, we'd spray the heck out of it, or rip up & burn the lot, so as to avoid the need to spray everything constantly. Right now though, biolotical control needs to be your priority!

  6. Try to find "finger limes". Not sure if you can & what condition they'll be in, but will come from a totally different production system, so they might have a better juice situation. They're warm climate lovers, so unless you have a heated greenhouse, you won't be able to grow yourself somewhere like Canada, but they can be grown as a bush, rather than a tree, so growing at home is a genuine option in many settings - and that certainly gets around the juice issues from processing or storing

  8.  @slewone4905  hmm so I guess you've never heard of Citrus greening or the Asian citrus psyllid huh? A "piece of poop" isn't in the process of completely destroying the entire $3.4 billion industry. Yours doesn't even get onto the scale for "evil bugs" does it!

  9.  @alejandra6673  In Australia, we call the lemon coloured ones "lemons" & the lime coloured ones "lime". We get a bit weird when it comes to soft drinks though, we call sprite etc "lemonade", even though it's clear & not really lemon flavoured
