@ink3539 Australia & NZ were both covid free before this cruise left! The ship brought in new, infected crew from overseas & straight onto that ship, but no passengers knew that, they thought it was exclusively between 2 covid free countries, from an Aussie based ship. There was no reason to think there would be infections onboard, especially when the crew actively hid positive tests from those who reported to the ship's doctor with covid symptoms. These people weren't even given the chance to stay in their cabins, they were told the ship was covid free & look at the video of the crew saying good bye to the passengers & how they're effectively molesting them as they sing to them & force them all to walk between lines of infected crew! & then after that, they all went home & infected relatives, while the cruise company still hid that they had over 100 positive tests in their hands before the ship docked! NONE of those people were told they were infected before they accidentally k1lled their own relatives!

@ayanjit9196 no, Australia was covid free when the ship left. New Zealand was covid free when it arrived there too. Both countries were heavily covid infected AFTER the ship docked again though, every state in Australia & where it docked in New Zealand were infected by this ship! There was no covid present in any supplies they took on though, their crew were the only option to introduce the virus

meanwhile Zac Efron travelled to Australia for a project & once finished, instead of travelling back home, he got himself a caravan & did the "snowbird" thing in Australia for many months while waiting covid out lol. We call that "grey nomads" in Australia, retirees buy caravans & travel around the country as tourists & during covid they grouped up with various backpackers & other stranded travellers & formed their own little communities to wait it out together (foreigners were allowed to go home, but their visas were extended indefinately if they wanted to stay in covid free Australia instead, so a lot of foreigners already in chose to stay) I just find the contrast amusing :)

I think it's reasonable to expect to be told if you test positive to covid & have the ship's doctor suggest you stay in your cabin, not tell you you're negative & go socialise with all the other passengers - which is what that ship's crew did! Also reasonable for the ship to take precautions with their new crew who had been exposed to covid! Passengers knew the cruise was between 2 countries that were covid free & so reasonably assumed they were as safe as at home In this case even a government inquiry found they seriously screwed up! The Australian government screwed up too, but no mistaking the fact that a single week long cruise caused covid infections in every state of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, America & suspected cases in a number of other countries with low testing rates & so unable to confirm. Secondary cases from WA to Tasmania to Auckland to LA etc were all confirmed from that ship though - and not a single one of the people who caused those infections were told they had tested positive until over a week after they had left the ship & in many cases they only found out the source when the media tracked them down & asked them if they had been sick! There were dozens of secondary deaths in relatives of people who had been on that ship that were fully preventable by simply telling the over 100 people who the ship's medical team already had positive covid test results for before the ship docked, about their positive test results! The cruise was between Australia & NZ, both of whom were covid free at the time, so there was no reason for anyone on board to assume they had caught covid while on that ship. They didn't know about the new crew members that had just flown in from the Diamond Princess to join that ship & who were coughing all over their food & infecting them with covid! Likewise when people on the RUby Princess got covid symptoms & saw the ship's doctor about it, they were tested & told they were fine & to continue enjoying the cruise, the cruise medical staff hiding from the patients their positive covid results! Look at the videos of the people leaving that ship & the crew all lined up forcing every passenger to walk between rows of them & have physical contact with them all! Even those that attempted to socially distance cause they had cold symptoms were denied the ability to do so by that ship's overbearing crew!

@Nevasleeps hey maybe look into the official government inquiry into what happened on that cruise ship & how the company was negligent before assuming you know the victim is to blame! Irrelevent what room she had, she still tried to postpone her trip & was denied that without losing all her money & was denied her covid result & that of the people around her to even know she should avoid other people on board & even if she tried to, she couldn't avoid eating the food that infected staff were coughing all over! Australia & NZ were covid free before that ship, every state & territory in Australia & NZ were infected by passengers on that ship! All while the company intentionally hid that they knew they had the virus onboard!

I'm glad the Ruby Princess got mentioned in the video. Shame it seems no-one outside Australia or New Zealand knows the history with that ship & how the crew hid infections from people with covid, causing many of them to infect their relatives after leaving the ship & then have to deal with the guilt of their relatives dying because of them! The cruise was on an Australian based ship, between Australia & NZ, both of which were covid free at the time. There was no reason for people to think they'd get covid onboard! They didn't know about the crew transfers from covid hotspots to that ship & when people got sick & tested positive, the ship's doctor lied to them & told them to keep socialising & enjoying the cruise & likewise the ship's crew were told to keep toucing & physically interacting with all the guests to make them feel happy, despite the ship's medical staff knowing full well their crew were infected & infecting passengers on mass! There's VERY good reason to sue that company & all crew onboard! That plague ship will never operate in Australia or NZ again, that's for sure!

@Joemamasisneor It was the sister ship to the Diamond Princess. Unknown to the passengers they had just carried out crew exchanges & while Australia (where the ship was based & left from) and NZ (where it travelled to on this cruise) were both completely covid free, the crew had just been brought in from overseas, where they'd been in direct contact with Diamond Princess crew

the one suing had a cruise between 2 covid free countries but tried to transfer to a later cruise anyway to be safe, but the company refused to let her & told her to go on that one or lose all her money & again, it was between 2 covid free countries, with all passengers from covid free countries. She had no way to know the company had just transferred crew in from the sister ship - the diamond princess! If she'd known that, she would have cancelled, but the company denied her that information & the chance to make an informed decision - just like they told passengers who tested possitive that they were negative, causing them to infect & then watch their relatives DIE as a result of them actually being possitive from that cruise & infecting them on getting home! There's no question that company needs to be sued! They were absolutely negligent in their actions with the ruby princess!

@alexc1926 presumably chelsea has all those facts because the cruise company were forced to reveal them in the government investigation into how so many people died because of their negligence. I suggest you read the same inquiry report chelsea obviously has & inform yourself as to the facts in this case! & if nothing else, lets remember that Australia & New Zealand were covid free at the time, so no reason for passengers to anticipate they would get covid on a cruise between those 2 countries. The company most certainly did NOT tell teh passengers they'd just transfered crew in from teh Diamond Princess hotspots & they most certainly knew they had done that! Like it or not, the company knew there was a high risk, due to the infected crew, the passengers did NOT have access to that information! Once passengers started getting sick onboard, the ship's doctor mislead them & let them think they were covid free & encouraged them to continue socialising & spreading covid to the rest of the ship. NONE of the sick passengers even had it suggested to them that they stay in their cabin & certainly none of the over 100 positive cases before the ship docked were told they were positive before they left the ship & infected their family members - even though the ship's doctor & company representatives knew about the positive results! Go read the inquiry report & educate yourself on what happened! Same for everyone attacking chelsea for sharing the facts with you all

@FirdausIzam there was no covid in either countries the cruise was travelling between though, so no reason to cancel if the company said there was no risk. If teh company had told them they had just flown in new crew who had been interacting with the diamond Princess crew, then obviously they would have been able to reassess their risk & likely cancel, but without that info, there was nothing to suggest this ship was a risk
