@esense9602 The Don bas wa r was initiated by the rus sians and the separatist group. Russia provided them with weapons and intel, and they attacked and took over government buildings in Donbas. So Ukraine was attacked and of course had to answer. Within a few months, the Rus sians had sent over 40,000 soldiers into Don bas, in addition to 5-6,000 rebels. it was these men that Ukraine was fighting against, not civilians. Oh when we all mention civilians, there were 3,400 who were killed in the fighting. Russian artillery accounted for 84 percent of civilian casualties.
