  2. It was Russia who broke Germany's trust! With the collapse of the Soviet Union, there was much concern in the West about how to contribute to a relatively stable Russia. So they let Russia take over the Soviet Union's place in the UN and other international organizations, poured in billions in investment, pretended that Russia was still a superpower, invited them into the G7, tiptoed around so as not to provoke, looked through their fingers with the most incredible things, etc. All to avoid chaos and warlords in civil war with nuclear weapons on the way. They were allowed to join trade agreements and many American and European companies invested in Russia. Germany was the country that went the furthest in achieving a mutually peaceful relationship. They have invested billions of Euros and they became dependent on Russian gas (despite warnings that the Russians were not to be trusted). As thanks we got Putin's aggressive imperialism and ethno-fascism, and finally a medieval war of aggression in the heart of Europe. They believed that the West was now so dependent on economic and energy conditions, they would not dare protest against the invasion.

Guterres sent a letter to Putin on Tuesday (beginning of July) proposing a way forward to further facilitate Russian food and fertilizer exports and ensure the continued Black Sea shipments of Ukrainian grain, a U.N. spokesman said on Wednesday. "The objective is to remove hurdles affecting financial transactions through the Russian Agricultural Bank, a major concern expressed by the Russian Federation, and simultaneously allow for the continued flow of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea," U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters. To convince Russia to agree to the Black Sea deal, a three-year memorandum of understanding was struck at the same time under which U.N. officials agreed to help Russia get its food and fertilizer exports to foreign markets.

" Western countries should first lift financial sanctions for the specific products Russia is supposed to export" That's exactly what's in the grain deal, and there was a solution for payment also. So I don't know what you are complaining about. And Russia had a record year for export last year, so the deal is working. Russia has vicarious motives to stop the deal. They want to prevent Ukraine from making money from selling its grain. Therefore they also has destroyed over 240.000 tons in the Ukrainian ports so far.
