Who do you think would attack russia, a country with the largest arsenals, the largest army and the most nuclear weapons? The answer of course is NO ONE! Everybody with more than two brain cells knows that. (But what putin really fears is that all neighboring countries will become democracies and that this will spread to Russia. Then he will lose his power.)
