  1.  @PerceivedREALITY999  During the beginning of WW2, the US sat safely across the ocean. While Soviet allied itself with Hitler and attacked Poland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Only when Hitler attacked them two years later, did they switch sides. And begged the U.S. for help. By 1944 the U.S. had produced two-thirds of the Allied military equipment. Over four million tons of supplies were delivered to the Soviets through the Arctic Convoys. As well as tanks and aircraft, these included less sensational but still vital items like trucks, tractors, telephone wire, railway engines and boots. These accounted for 23 percent of all the equipment and supplies used by the Soviets on the Eastern Front during the war.
