@liamness cameras and a way to lock bikes to the concrete floor could help

Read your local transit annual report.. tens of millions are spent on diesel while only nine or ten cents of each $1 in fares from poor people contribute to overall revenue. Wall Street companies like Veolia also provide drivers as essentially temps (to provide profits and provide fewer benefits). I feel drivers should be directly employed as nonprofit operators.
1
Lol we used to hack "Fareless!" And go to Sauvie Island, transit should be free and my friends are now mayor and Governor there, will work on them and TriMet.
1
@CityBeautiful Agreed, it was required by EPA for high urban nox emissions from diesel buses and downtown traffic, interestingly.
1
@MilwaukeeF40C this guy is a troll
1
@nc3826 Stanford does this, uses electric vans during off hours. Former Google worker manages their free Maugerite electric shuttle system.
1
@MarshallSteeves Tell the Mayor!
1
Didn't they learn they could have saved billions by not doing the tunnel and just having the above ground road diet? The other way would have been tunnel for cars and bike/ped at surface. Either seem better than this.
1
Just hoping stores don't raise prices.
1
Can ask your leaders for improvements
1
@flip1sba many abandoned new buildings though
1
Homeless already get free passes and crime moving by bus is more likely a myth, many cameras and facial recognition soon.

Short term rental and rent control, tech worker/millionaire tax. Land trust and affordable nonprofit micro apartments.
1
@horseplop9 we're only at 40 percent obesity so far
1
@SLACKERBOY 👏 Can always ask city hall and txdot for more bike lanes
1
@noah Oh wow you live in a truly dangerous area.
1
Agreed, can always register bike with your city.
1
@TheGuy-tc8wm There's many I hear
1
@ShellsGhost1 Portland has a block party permit too
1
@RedSntDK they're jealous
1
Can work to change that, agreed
1
They likely have a streetsblog.org film
1
Counties will often help once a year.
1
Jesus taught simple greed
1
What's amazing is that a lot of ugly and bothersome uses may have been built illegally. It's as easy as making a simple alert to your local 311 to make them clean up.
1
@JER0EN Red is the new bus lane color, gets attention from drivers.
1
Super scary, they need to go wind and battery to inspire kids!
1
Where?
1
Check your city website for tree giveaways/treebates and use your 311 app to get street trees replaced and planted if missing!
1
Sidewalks are for ADA. Only ok for bikes if widened for that purpose.
1
Sources?
1
They shouldn't be allowed to park in the bike lanes. No signs or enforcement?
1
It's life changing, for sure
1
Streetsblog.org has a lot of films on Davis and Asian bike facilities also
1
I think cities get Google Sidewalk too
1
Austin just hired their city manager to bring more good ideas!
1
Full size electric scooters are really cool as there's no noise or air pollution too.
1
👏👏👏
1
eBART is also cable driven. I used to sail at Berkeley with their engineer from Austria or somewhere like that.
1
And the OHSU tram is free when coming down, there is a hiking trail to get up there too.
1
@CityBeautiful Sliding scale by income should work.
1
@Azivegu Affordable housing in the US is a tax scam to give money to the rich, interestingly. Check it out.
1
@TheRishijoesanu With you on congestion and carbon tax parts
1
@TheAntoine48 Good question, for weather and elders, likely.
1
Exactly! I cycle, transit and have a wind powered electric car as backup.
1
@carfreeneoliberalgeorgisty5102 ebikes would really help here on hills
1
