@micahistory i dont think its banned from reading it, its just not really accessible to the people since creating bible was somewhat expensive before printing press and the bible also in latin so no peasant able to understand much i mean charlemagne did mass produce bible with no harm back in the days

@paoloviti6156 yeah, Luther's reformation really triggered massive development in Catholic church rather than previous stagnation last real time this happened was that some gnostic moment in egypt and nestorian thing back in 300s

@paoloviti6156 oh that one? Cathars? What relation to that? The pope was insane at that time he was the one that accidentally launched 4rd crusade and really did nothing about that. Compare him to stalin cause their personality is somewhat similar

@anthonythistle1465 also look at the reason why he was burned, he was burned because he mistranslate some part of the bible at that time mistranslating bible can lead to serious consequences although i think the real reason is more of the church afraid of losing power rather than shits like this

@paoloviti6156 that mad person also almost banned franciscan which original intentions was just to live way of the old become poor and servant of society in fearing his power getting threatened imagine if he hadnt had any moral basis(he said he had a vision) and just go full ham on those who he fears like stalin man these 2 guys were so similar

@anthonythistle1465 when did i ask something here? I said the protestant reformation led catholic church to see itself in the mirror and become better. They themselves still uses latin bible in an effort to preserve the language. the also protestants did much much more book burning and persecutions. This is a religious turmoil era, i dont think it can be blamed to simply 1 side

@anthonythistle1465 look man, in reality i dont really care about God or whether or not he even exist but i debated about what actually happened not what God's will. I never said all the catholic church did was right but i said that it triggered them to develop to be less corupt. We cant deny that catholic church was the only remnant of the roman empire thus using latin language is quite reasonable for them

@manrahman6661 Christianity is more flexible toward local namung and culture. You can look for yourself orthodoxy, especially Coptic. they use arabic languages. They also certainly not failed, Dutch wasn't care that much about converting, they even care more about oppressing Catholic than converting muslims. Most efforts were done by independent missionaries and a lot of them are from germany. My Tribe converted willingly even inviting them

@anthonythistle1465 what i meant was they didnt get banned from reading the latin ones, i didnt deny that reading the translated one was banned, a latin bible is also a bible
