I think Dr. Roberts is over exposed. Frankly I am sick to death of her and her hair color changes.

Our land? She is the descendant of people who didn't live in Britain when the Romans went there, so the Romans came, stayed for hundreds of years and left when that woman's ancestors were somewhere between modern France and modern Germany. It's a pity that the land cannot be stopped from slipping into the sea. Admiral, a word that comes from Arabic. Is that how Boulogne is pronounced in English.

The Brits are so obsessed with trying to find pre Roman civilization and sophisticated artifacts present before actual Roman contact. It is pointless considering trade networks connected the Roman, the Romanized world with the non Roman world like coriander seeds, olive oil, mass produced but high quality crockery. It is like the plague that spread among Neolithic farming communities that came from the Steppes before the actual mass Indo-Europeans Steppe Herders moved into Europe.

The chip on the shoulder on the Brits is too much. Iron Britons weren't barbarians, now, that's a big deal. Not really. So they made goat tracks. Wonderful. So they stuck clay on rock rubble, now it's cement. Wonderful. Some old man was buried with two poor ponies, and his chariot. It is rather 2nd rate archaeology trying to prove the Britons weren't a bunch of hairy backed savages. They can make a anthill into mount Everest out of banality. I suggest stop the anti Roman bigotry and find something worth finding.

It might have helped to have a miner with some expertise in copper mining to assist the team. Some ancient mines have a lot of broken and discarded items in them. That mine looks so clean. They didn't achieve much. Miners need lamps or torches, their clothing, shoes would wear out, those German miners were so tidy.

War should be forgotten, our dead remembered, not interested in barbed wire. All those folks care about is gold and silver. I sometimes wonder "Do we have to know everything about the past", and maybe some human remains left in situ or place somewhere that isn't a cardboard box in a museum storeroom, a place that is more reverent. Dna can be taken, reconstructions made from skulls, we can know more about these remains than just keeping in a box for age and health can be assessed.
