The only thing from that study you are talking about is my assertion that the Neolithic transition in Italy, and Greece was different genetically from that in Central and Western Europe. The presence of Caucasian and West Asian ancestry in Italians predates the East Mediterranean hordes that paper is referring to in the Imperial Age. The Minoans and the Mycenaean Greeks had that same ancestry found in Imperial Roman citizens and slaves. By the way I don't think Europeans with high Steppe ancestry are the epitome of Europeanness afterall those Steppe people were invading foreigners from the Eurasian Steppes not native to Western, Central, Northern or Southern Europe.

That is the price you have to pay for being successful and prosperous compared with those people from "the East" who are not from less successful or prosperous countries. The Roman Empire paid that price.
