  2. Academics do the same thing with other academics. So why not? Look, it depends how you correct someone whether academic or not. I don't as a rule do not correct anyone. I hear mispronunciations quite often like Pompei, but I let it ride. When I was in Tertiary Education I did not like having to cite sources. It annoyed me because learned as those people were, they are still mostly opinions based on correlations. Of course citing sources is the right approach, but it still irks me. Paradigms as used by you comes from a boring book on science by a Thomas Kuhn. I aged reading that book.
