Aren't all species inbred, and differences in individual nucleotides has no effect on the protein produced, a lot of redundancy. Inbreeding is genetically is deleterious when a mutation occurs that has pathogenic effects, and an individual inherits that deleterious mutation from both its parents. Inbreeding is cultural unacceptable, but the genetic effects are not that serious. Queen Victoria inherited a mutation that she passed on to some of her descendants who intermarried. The fact Prince Albert was her cousin and husband, wasn't the problem.
