Nice video, and what a unique car!! Haven’t driven an F10 M5, but I’ve driven several F10s. What I can say is they’re very distant as a driving experience. The E60 was very comfortable, but it still had that tied to the road feeling which is totally missing with the F10. I’m thinking it’s because of the massive weight gain, the EPS, and the platform sharing with larger, more expensive cars. Either way, I’d be very curious to try an F10 M5 out

@alangil40 Yes, totally agree with you. Also, while the 540i’s steering wasn’t the best because of it being a steering box, it was still better than the EPS in the F10s. It had road feel and you were connected with the car. Hold on to that E60 as long as you can!!! It’s exactly how you said. It’s the last 5 series that still feels like a BMW. Also, 997.2 is an awesome car. Dream garage right there that you’ve got!!

Except for the horrible reliability of the early N63/S63 engines. Also, the weak rear end of the F10 M5. If you can find a 6 speed E60 M5, you have to do rod bearings, vanos pump, and maybe throttle actuators. The F10 M5 has countless extra issues over the S85. Let's put it this way: if you can find a 6 speed E60 M5 that's had the rod bearings done and vanos pump done for around 25-30k, you should have an extra 5-10k for issues that could arise. If you can find an F10 M5 in that price range, you need to have at minimum 15-20k liquid for issues that could arise. Not just my take, but ask any BMW mechanic and they'll tell you the same thing. Plus, the F10 is much heavier and isolated (not in a good way) compared to the E60, while not being significantly more roomy.

@Cyrix2k Yup, F10 M5 does still have hydraulic steering. But is it like the steering in E60/E90 where you know what’s going on, or is road feel only present when you’re REALLY pushing the car?
