It never fails the NYT passing off their liberal agenda as facts and independent investigation. The man shot a pistol at police. That has been proven and gun shot residue was found on his hands, the video shows him firing. Shoot at police and be prepared to be shot. How dare the NYT try and spin this. Pepper balls are not force, they are a means to control rioting people without the need for violence. This has to be the most biased and agenda driven article the New York Times has ever produced. The idea some hack journalist is so blind and ignorant that he insinuates police shouldn't defend themselves after being shot at, is Ludacris and ridiculous. This journalist should apologize and retract his story for the greater good of the public. Videos like this only incite more viooence from the left. Disgusting.

@Novids2watch you do not defend a business and patrons, by firing a handgun at police and national guard soldiers. There is nothing that justifies firing a handgun at police officers who are legally clearing streets from violent protestors.

@Novids2watch I ask you this. Should police officers go back to clearing streets with wooden riot batons and shields, or use much simpler safer tear gass and pepper balls? Which is less likely to hurt lawless protestors?
