It just hit me that safely cutting the defence spending may not be an easy task. What will we do with all these soldiers who's entire careers are based on war? I just reminded myself that the one-percenter movement (Criminal biker gangs. Not to be confused with the current 99% movement) started out as a group of Vietnam war veterans who couldn't stand the low tempo American life once they were sent home.

They didn't stop. They didn't get bumped. They may have slowed down a bit out of shock, but as they realized the situation, they chose to hit the gas to avoid trouble rather than stop and make sure the woman got medical attention. That she supposedly were run over voluntarily seem like nothing but a narrowminded generalization from your part, comparing her with Jihadists. Fact is, regardless of her intention or non-intention, they failed to care for a perhaps lethally wounded human being.

Sounds like a plan.

People in general know Iraq is quite fucked up and are hoping that US presence is going to change that (we're-saving-them-from-themselves style), so that they at least have one thing to be proud of after almost a decade of occupation. This have more news-value because in general, people like to think US troops have the moral high ground. This is a reality check.
