  1. Not impressed Gingrich? Not that I would call the drug policy of Netherlands an "experiment", but take a look at these statistics and then take another look at Gingrich. Young adults (aged 15–34) who consume soft drugs once a month: Netherlands (9.5%), UK (13.8%), France (16,7%), Italy (20,9%). How is that a fail? Maybe they are using heavier drugs you ask? 4% compared to the 3% average of 15 countries in EU. Drugrelated deaths are among lowest in europe. Still not impressed? Source: EMCDDA

  2. @PalmerDT I wouldn't put it that simple. I think the low number seen in Netherlands has very much to do with eg. the regulation and rehabilitation measures they have taken. I'm sure that decriminalization could aswell lead to an increase in drug consumption if the culture favours it and no counter measures are taken.
