  1. The diversity of languages is a consequence of communication segregation and is already decreasing. Given that globalization is allowed to continue until the entire world is interconnected, diversity will decrease, and given enough time it's likely that we will end up with one common language. Whether this language will be English is harder to tell. Perhaps an evolved version of English, slightly mixed with other large languages.
