@WyrmPrince The more accurate ones worldview is, the better decisions one can do. Deluded people make bad decisions. You've got some point in that this kind people will remain even if religion were to be erased, but I seriously think they will be reduced.

To clear things up, his motives were Islamophobic. In his worldview the "massive" immigration from the middle east region would result in that by the year of 2080, entire Europe would be Islam with sharia laws and whatnot. He thaught that the ruling labourparty in norway were traitors for letting this happen, thus the killing. What's scary about this is that these thaughts and look upon the world is in no way original. I've encountered several people on youtube having the exact same worldview.

The police suit was not to "shock" people. It was two reasons he used it. 1. He could expose his weapons without too much suspicion. 2. If confronted, the uniform would induce confusion and buy him a few extra seconds to aim and shoot.

@187onaPigeon If they after those 21 (possibly 30) years find him to still be dangerous to society, he can be detain as long it's necessary. 21 is the minimum sentence. Also, I just read an article explaining how the 30 years sentence can only be used during times of war, which is not the case here.
