  1. I don't think shooting the dog was such a surpricing decision. Iin her desperate moment she probably couldn't think of a good way make sure it would be taken good care of when she was gone, so she thought it was for the best. What would she do? Shoot herself and leave the dog with her corpse for god knows how long?
