On the farthest sides of the north I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like the Most High" So basically, he aspired to be God's equal. Not sure how being a pain in the ass and managing God's torture chamber would bring him any closer to that goal though. Anyway, God didn't like that, so he went political on him and said: "Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.
