@123trymeout You got me wrong. I'm talking about the direction in which our society is heading. It's changing gradually over time. Labourintensive jobs are still required, but they constitute a smaller portion than they did 30 years ago, and if the trend persists, will be even smaller in 10 years.

Society is changing. Labourintensive jobs are being replaced by technology. Jobs tend to require less physical work and more knowlage, know-how and social skills. Household technology becomes more and more complex, meaning the average Joe are more dependant on specialists. He'll rather hire an expert to fix his car or install the new home theatre than doing it by himself. To grandpa this might come off as lazy, but from a broader perpective it increases efficiency of the society as a whole.
