So you're saying they consciously triggered an invasion of their own homelands by worlds greatest military power because they felt like they were already under occupation and had nothing to lose? Sound kindof reasonable, but again: is there anything beyond raw speculation suggesting this? Where did you get it from?

  2. God knows how many jobs would go lost if US cut their defence budget in half. Imagine the chain of subcontractors that are directly or indirectly depending on US defense spending. It's almost as if US can't afford to reduce military spending during this recession.

  3. Who would willfully call for an invasion of their own homeland? Although this has been the effect, I doubt it was their plan. If you give me any reason beside raw speculation, maybe I change my mind. Also, I'm not American.

  4. After doing some research I realize that this may have been true in the context of the 2008 presidential election. But does it still apply? As of now it seem as if their objective is US withdrawal from the region.
