This will make the cleansing of salt water more profitable and thus encourage of building more plants. If this shows to be destructive to the oceanic ecosystems large scale long term, thats our next problem to solve.

If a politician changes his mind today, at least in america, people are going to assume he was bought. If you could just get money out of politics, consistency would weigh much less.

My point is that John Biewen seems to suggest that the reason racism stays with us is the same as the reason it was first invented, which I don't agree with. I think it has evolved into something else, and like you say, has become intertwined with religion, identity, language, culture, etc. Not so much about profit anymore I think.

  33. The problem arise when this kind of online profile become the norm, and employers start demanding it. Also, let's say you reset your profile at 25. In the eyes of the employer, this will look highly suspicious. Either you didn't have any jobs before 25, or you had a bad reputation you wanted to hide. Only way to get an employment will be through people you know personally, who can overlook your bad reputation.

  42. I feel like technology has degraded our memory, because we've grown so used to information being available at our finger tips, that we don't bother to memorize. This is problematic, because memories are more than information storage; we process, compare, synthesize, and experiment with them. We build new ideas, experience, and wisdom.

  43. His point is that religion provides functions many of us demand. Instead of trying to ignore that fact, we should identify them and provide secular alternatives. I think he's making a great point here. As an atheist it's easy to get stuck with the quest of proving oneself independant of religion and associated activities, neglecting all the value it actually provides.

Why do I have to ask for forgiveness if he already died for my sins? Why did he have to die in order to forgive me? Couldn't he just forgive me? What have I done to Him that I need forgiveness for?
