  3. The greatest risk with measuring a nation's success by its GDP will emerge if/when China's GDP races past US economy and becomes world's new center for trade and finance. This will tell us that liberal democracy is an interior system. We need to rediscover why our ancestors decided to put up with the often tedious and ineffective system of democracy.
