  1. Is Matt arguing that a private hospital, if left to decide for itself, would choose to save more lives instead of over-prioritizing Covid-19 patients? I beg to differ. If left to themselves, hospitals would surely allocate resources more effectively in regard to making profit, but unfortunately profit is not at all proportional to the number live and healthy patients. In most cases it is more profitable for a hospital to specialize in catering to the needs of a small wealthy elite.
