  1. There seems to be a deep contradiction in Gladden's perspective. He proclaims to defend a society, through constitution and governance, which is in harmony with the natural order. But why would "nature" need a constitution or government to enforce its order? Isn't nature, by definition, the order and patterns which emerge spontaneously in the absence of a humanly conceived (or divine) plan?
