I'm really bad at fitting in. Was pretty sure I'd never get a decent job. I thought studying would help so went to university. After 3 years I still felt unfit for a real job, so studied some more. Took my chance on a project work involving research, that led to opportunity for PhD education. Half way in, I realize a PhD wasn't gonna help me get a job, because this makes me more expensive to hire, expectations are higher and positions are fewer. Anyway, I finished and got hired a couple of years more as postdoc, because what else would I do? I felt the end of my fraud coming closer. Then a lot of people left the department and I was asked if I'd like to stay, so I stayed. Now I'm doing research and teach and still feel like I will never get a real job. Saving most money I earn so I have a bunch to fall back on when they fire me. I also play PC games, single-player.
