  1. Bankers, Capitalists, Media, Government, Education, Culture, etc. They all have a relatively small constellation at the top which holds most of the influence. Each respective elite has its own interests, but they often find common ground and cooperate.

  2. They all seem to agree that "populism" is a reaction to legitimate grievances. Their disagreement regards whether liberals have failed to address these grievances or whether they have failed to suppress the reaction. In my view, liberals have focused almost exclusively on suppressing the reaction while largely ignoring the grievances, a strategy which has turned out to fuel rather than quench the reaction. It's time to listen carefully to people's concerns and offer policy which address these in a more constructive and less volatile way than the populists do.
