  1. Lame excuse. Let's just admit it, this is pure big power geopolitics, nothing else. Europe is taking part in the containment and rollback of China's growth as an economic power. The belt and road initiative was a way to circumvent US sanctions and control of Chinese trade routes. In the long run this will contribute to further inflation as Chinese products become increasingly taxed.
