  1. From what I understand he has come to the conclusion that the self is only a social construct and has moved beyond it. He's just one part of something greater than himself, and he has realize that the boundary between him and the rest is quite artificial.

  3. I wouldn't call it mental issues unless it's unhealthy for him or dangerous to others. He seams rather harmless and peaceful to me. It's just a change of perspective, not necessarily for the worse.
