  1. Cryptocurrencies are hyped because some of them have seen an impressive rise in value. Fun for speculators, but is this a good thing for a currency? In ordinary terms this corresponds to deflation, which is considered bad, because it incentivizes saving over investment and throws economies into depression. The reason central banks try to keep a steady inflation is because it pressures those who own wealth to reinvest into the economy rather than to keep it in a vault, which benefits everyone.

  2. The idea that inflation is some conspiracy by an elite against the common man is so stupid. If inflation skyrockets, the wealthy and the money lenders will be first to panic, as inflation eats wealth and debt.
