  4. I think Robert Epstein underestimates what Joe says about forgetfulness being a feature. The human brain isn't just storing raw data flowing from our senses, it processes and interprets the data, then stores symbols of essential features which seem useful to us. We have the "use it or lose it" effect. Also, it seems Robert is playing a game of semantics refusing to call this memory.
