  1. About hyperventilation: A commonly practiced method to return to normal breathing is to breath into a paper bag (rebreathing), however, this seems controversial among experts. Considering James advice to defy your instinct to breath more, perhaps it is a way to mechanically force you to breath slower? Or maybe it has to do with raising the CO2 level through re-circulation?
