  1. I think Joe react like this when he feels someone deliberately talks over his head. He gets suspicious that he's getting bamboozled and becomes over-skeptical.

  3.  @jamesmccarthy9997  True, but if I recall correctly, Bob's story didn't involve derivatives, tensors, or more than 4 dimensions. He just described in a relatable way what he experienced.

  4.  @wuyev  I think Joe suspects that Eric uses unnecessarily complicated words and descriptions in order to protect his theory from proper examination. He pushed Eric to describe it in a way that he can understand, then tried his best to apply scrutiny. However this ended up steering the discussion off topic.
