I totally understand this. When I was young and looking many of the American women I met had too many deal killer issues. Many were angry feminist, had daddy issues, were single mothers or had personality disorders. One was a CA surfer girl, another a pro photo model. I met and dated 3 Japanese women who were studying in the US. One was from a samurai family. I ended up marrying the daughter of a Sargent Major in the JDF. One of my co-workers is divorced from an American wife and he is now in a long distance relationship with a Thai woman. He flies over to see he as often as he can. He complains when he dates American women the date always turns into a job interview. A number of my co-workers are married to foreign Asian women. China, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam. My best friend co-worker is Italian and he met his wife in Shanghai when he was there for an internship. She is trained as a doctor and she also speaks French and English. She doesn't speak Italian and he doesn't speak any Chinese. She was too old to marry a Chinese guy. I have met her many times and she is very bright and very friendly. They get along great. He does all the cooking.
